How to bid on Meta & Google Ads
Bid is the maximum auction amount or target your platform uses during delivery. CPC is your observed average cost per click; CPA is your cost per conversion. They are not the same.
Step 1: Choose your business goal (purchase or qualified lead). Step 2: Calculate what a conversion is worth. Step 3: Enter your monthly budget and target result cost. Step 4: Start with automated bidding if you have little conversion history. Step 5: Compare actual CPA, ROAS and profit before adjusting.
Meta: Highest volume, cost per result goal, bid cap, or ROAS goal may be offered depending on campaign setup. Google: Maximize Conversions, target CPA, Maximize Conversion Value, and target ROAS are common options.
Example: If selling price is Rs. 3,000, non-ad expenses are Rs. 2,000, and desired profit is Rs. 400, the target maximum CPA is Rs. 600. This is not necessarily your CPC bid.
Never mistake forecast assumptions for guaranteed sales or live auction benchmarks.
